How to prepare with role interview questions

Knowing the questions is not the same as being ready to answer them. Use the guides like this:

  1. Answer out loud before reading the sample. Write nothing down the first time. The gap between what you thought you would say and what you actually said is the whole point of the exercise.
  2. Then compare against the structure, not the wording. Each guide gives the framework the interviewer is listening for — usually situation, what you decided, and what happened. Copying the sample answer verbatim is transparent and scores badly.
  3. Use your own numbers and your own mistakes. A specific failure you recovered from is stronger than a generic success. Interviewers are testing whether you understand the tradeoffs you made.
  4. Rehearse the two-minute version. Most answers should run 60–120 seconds. Beyond that you are usually repeating yourself, and the interviewer stops listening for the point.
  5. Prepare your questions too. The last five minutes are scored as well. Ask about how the team measures success, or where the role's biggest constraint is.

Common questions

Is this specific to one applicant tracking system?
The guidance is written against how mainstream systems (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Taleo, iCIMS and similar) parse and rank resumes. They differ in detail, but the failure modes are shared: unreadable structure, missing role keywords, and bullets with no measurable outcome.
Do I need to pay to read these guides?
No. Every guide linked from this page is free and needs no account. The guides themselves are always free to read in full; the optional rewrite of your own resume is a separate service you can arrange by email.
Are the examples real people's resumes?
No. They are composed examples built from role data. Where a number belongs you will see a placeholder such as [X]% rather than an invented statistic, so you substitute your own figure.
How are these pages produced?
Each page is composed from a structured dataset for that role and checked against a published quality gate before it goes live. The editorial policy sets out how content is produced, reviewed and corrected.
